Foreign body (FB) ingestion in children is common and most children are observed to be between 6 months and 3 years of age. Although most FBs in the gastrointestinal tract pass spontaneously without complications, endoscopic or surgical removal may be required in a few children.  Thus, FB ingestion presents a significant clinical difficulty in pediatric gastroenterological practice. Parameters that need to be considered regarding the timing of endoscopic removal of ingested FBs in children are the children’s age or body weight, the clinical presentation, time lapse since ingestion, time of last meal, type as well as size and shape of the FB, and its current location in the gastrointestinal tract.  Esophageal button batteries require emergency removal regardless of the presence of symptoms because they can cause serious complications.  ICU achievement unlocked: when everyone had given up following several failed attempts, me and my friend Dr Asif refused to give up on him, he was cyanosed with no peripheral or carotid pulsation. Asif commenced chest compression and bagging (another doctor from M48) after 3 or 4 cycles we were almost ready for DC shock. When I finally got my hands on the laryngoscope I was lucky enough to intubate him under 15 secs on my first and single attempt ( before this others tried and had already given up). It was a difficult intubation. Making sure the tube had gone in its right place, Asif promptly set up the Ventilator and connected the patient. We observed for 30 minutes and with falling blood pressure we started inotropic support, calculated dose according to his body weight (our 3 M 48 doctors did this part with great efficiency and promptness). At that time patient had good O2 saturation , Bp within normal range , showing good response on the ventilator monitor.  But we felt anything m

It is the surgeon's duty to tranquillize the temper, to beget cheerfulness, and to impart confidence of recovery. #DrAndalib But on a different note, Get eid of all the toxic elements from your surroundings and the smile shall always persist. But to the contrary we tend to adore and nourish the toxicity, forgetting the prosperity what awaits us. Note to self.
